Prime Student is a discount service that allows higher education students to access the same benefits as a regular Prime member for half the cost. On the other hand, Amazon Prime is a subscription service that provides customers with access to free shipping, streaming services, and other exclusive benefits. Starting May 18, Amazon Prime Student now includes 6 free months of LinkedIn Premium, which provides InMail credits, more information about who viewed your profile, access to more than 15,000 LinkedIn learning courses taught by experts, and more. Amazon Student offers most of the same benefits that are available with Amazon Prime, such as free one-day shipping, streaming music and videos, free videos, free e-books and audiobooks, free music without ads, free Grubhub deliveries for one year, Try Before You Buy closet, offers on recipes, free video games, unlimited photo storage. However, there are a few key differences between the two services. The biggest difference between Amazon Prime and Amazon Student is that Amazon Student requires that you are currently a student at any of the country's universities in order to qualify.

This is not the case with the Amazon Students account. Additionally, Amazon Student offers a wide range of limited benefits for students compared to Amazon Prime. With Amazon Student before the changes, there was a single membership account compared to Amazon Prime which has a shared membership. The biggest disadvantage of Amazon Student compared to Prime is that the membership is not transferable, so only the primary account holder can use it.As for the added benefit of streaming services, if you're happy with other video or music streaming services you're already subscribed to (such as Hulu, Netflix, Apple Music, or Spotify), Amazon's multimedia offerings might not offer you anything new.
